After suffering from a mysterious "neurological" disorder for months, Malibu favorite Dick Van Dyke tweeted Thursday that titanium dental implants appear to be the cause of the problem.

"It seems that my titanium dental implants are the cause of my head pounding. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for all your replies" the star tweeted Thursday afternoon.

In April, the star admitted he had been dealing with the ailment, but doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. He assured fans, friends and followers that it was not a terminal illness, "just a pain."

"My head bangs every time I lay down," he tweeted last month. "I've had every test come back that I'm perfectly healthy. Anybody got any ideas?"

The condition forced him to cancel several public appearances, including a trip to New York to receive the first Lifetime Achievement Award for Bettering Humanity Through Comedy from the 92nd Street Y.

Being a first visitor of your blog, it's a great experience to read your post. It's a nice post and full of information about dental implant procedure. Yes, dental implantation is the ideal treatment for teeth restoration and it is a life long solution.

I know my comment will not be very popular with the powerful cell phone industry but "Cell Phone Use Increases Health Risks for Metallic Dental Implant Patients"

Humans are sensitive to radiofrequency and EMFs. Titanium implants are like having little antennas in your head to only increase the sensitivity. I would be careful around any wireless field including security systems.

Dick, if I were you, I would check it out. See how you feel after being on a cell phone for a period of time. It could be the surgery led to some damage but it could also be the implants themselves which are adding to your misery. You could then avoid these fields for relief. Check it out. ---- I wish you the best, always.

tanmin, of course the U.S. health care system is not perfect. Neither are the Chinese, Ugandan, Swedish, Indian, Mexican, Laotian, Yemen, Canadian, ... and so on ... systems.

My family includes a multitude of U.S. and European physicians going back six generations that have saved peoples' lives thousands of times.

My Dad John is a radiation oncologist and does his best to cure cancer using radiation therapy. He works for the VA and has cured thousands of Veterans' cancer outbreaks. His Brother is a former Pathologist that has retrained in Chirorpraptic therapy and successfully cures many patients for a wide ramnge of ainments.. My niece and my cousin work at the most state-of-the-art premie facilities at UCLA and Utah State University were they incubate and keep alive babies born at a size of less than one pound. They showed me these tiny infants in their oxygen tents. Many parents insist that classical or reggae music be played to their infants to help them survive.

Sure there is a bunch of waste and squalor in the US health Care sytem,. but that's mostly due to health insurance fraud. (The health insurance industry earns a much larger profit than the health care industry itself. What's up with that?)

Everything my many generatrions of family members in the medical profession do is in an effort to heal peoples' illness.

While worrking with Heal the Bay at the Cross Creek Road crossing over Malibu Creek, our crew had the pleasure to meet Dick many times on his way home from work. He was always the perfect gentleman and always supported our good work.

Mr. van Dyke is one of the best humans and one of the most talented actor/singer/dancer of all time. His legacy is absolutely awsome. Dick was an inspiration for my musical career. Here are few examples:

    I love Dick van Dyke.

Made a mistake it was approximately 2 years of total misery not one year.
People are allergic to certain foods but the difference is they eat them and pass
them through there body. but in my case with the white plastic filling I was carrying it
    around in my mouth

I myself had a similar thing happen. i had a white plastic filling put in my mouth
three days later broke out in hives ended up in Hospital, face all swollen itching
all over my body & hives . The swollen face went down but the hives stayed
& the itching was bad it took me a year to finally come up with maybe it was the plastic
filling, my body was on fire. I use to sit in a cold water filled tub for comfort
Had the filling taken out, three days later my body stopped itching and started to get
much much cooler to the point of I did not need the tub and could wear clothing.
The hives were still on my body but know itching at all it was a very bad bad year
for me The Dentist did not think this could be why I had the hives But it was.

I had dental implants in 2006, and another in 2009. Ever since, I haven't felt quite the same. I told my husband "somethings wrong, but I don't know what". I also had a CAT scan, and an MRI. I did have trauma to my front tooth, so I may have caused some damage myself, but there's not a day that goes by that I'm not in pain. A few doctors that I've seen (and there have been over a dozen) said my implant is up too high, too close to the nasal cavity. Sooo, I had an operation to take 2 mm off, but it still hurts. If I talk too much it hurts, and if I get stressed, it hurts even more. I read today that doctors do not do a biocompatibility test because they said no one is allergic to titanium, however, the abutments are not always totally titanium. One dentist told me to just live with it because removing it would be way too risky and could destroy the bone. If, Mr. Van Dyke you find a solution, please let me know. I don't get the banging in my head, however, the pain goes from my nose up into my head. I also don't sleep well. I take medication to take the edge off. I did hear that there are implants made of porcelain, but may only be available in another country. I do know about the pain, and what you're going through. I've been living with it for 6 years also. I hope you feel better soon. Take care and God Bless

I have severe pounding in my ear. Have spent thousands trying to diagnose the annoying pulsation and no one is able to find a cause. Two implants were necessary because my front middle tooth is missing due to a childhood fight with my brother when we were playing 'swords' with the sprinkler key. Otherwise, I have no other health problems. Interesting diagnosis.

the health industry here in the so called fictional USA is bad and worth -0. they are most likely trained to kill and commercialize with lives, pretending to have powers or authorities not due them. i advise go to other country for check up, is what i do all the time, then in the other countries doctors don't ask for personal identifications, health insurances, names verification, etc... they go to the reason you as a living breathing soul are there to be helped. dignified body, and not a thing or commodity... i hate the felon criminal mafia operated and educated health system here.[sad] need to discuss go ahead and email me or call 323 802 4591
