Council Member Potential Candidates 2016

The Malibu Times will host a city council candidates’ debate at the Civic Theater in Malibu City Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Moderated by Publisher Arnold G. York, candidates will be asked questions on important issues concerning Malibu residents. All six council candidates — Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner, Laureen Sills, Carl Randall, Skylar Peak, Rick Mullen and Jennifer deNicola — have been invited to attend the debate, which will run from 6:30 - 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to attend to help prepare for elections on Nov. 8.

Thank you for hosting this very important debate and good luck to all of the candidates who have chosen to stand up and serve our community.

I look forward to hearing from the candidates and to learn more about their positions on issues facing Malibu.

Unlike the Santa Monica/Malibu School Board race, I am grateful we live in a town with many choices regarding who will represent us. Grateful for our small town with big democracy!
