A female adult was found dead in her guest room at the Malibu Country Inn at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's officials confirmed.

As of Wednesday afternoon, there is no suspected foul play.

"At this point, there's no evidence of anything suspicious," Lt. Mathers told The Malibu Times. Mathers added that further information regarding cause of death will come from the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner, which did not release further information, pending notification of next of kin.

"What happened was, a female adult was stayinging a room with a friend," Mathers said. "The friend went out for a while and came back and discovered that her friend was not responsive and called us.

"The friend left and said 'I'll be back in a few minutes,' went to meet somebody else, [then came back and] noticed the friend was in the same position and hadn't moved," Mathers described.
