Doug Taub died in his sleep on the morning of June 13.
He was born in California on Nov. 11, 1952, and raised in Michigan, where he developed his love for cars. He moved to LA to began his career as a photographer.
Doug then settled in Malibu with his wife, Frances, and his two daughters. Malibu is also where he launched his successful photography company before shifting his career to become a commercial film director. He directed some of the most iconic and visually stunning car commercials.
Doug was a lover of mountain biking, travel, Formula 1 racing, cooking and entertaining for his best friends.
“Doug was a true legend who had an infectious heart and left his legacy in the form of his two daughters, Nichola and Sophie, who will miss him dearly,” a family member shared.
A memorial for Doug Taub will be held in Los Alamos, Calif., where he resided for the last few years.
