Valiant Efforts

Several Malibu Search and Rescue Team members were honored by the California Reserve Peace Officers Association on Friday, Aug. 23, with awards bestowed for heroism and service to the community.

Team members Henzgen and Rogers received Medal of Valor honors, while Katz received the Search and Rescue Member of the Year Award. Morton was honored with the Distinguished Service Award. Also present at the ceremony were Captain Matthew Vander Horck as well as other members of the sheriff’s Lost Hills Station, such as Civilian Volunteer Garside, who received the Volunteer of the Year Award.
